In 2010 Cox Design and Consult were appointed as approved suppliers for Tesco plc for their upcoming 2 year framework.
In 2011 CDP began to complete an existing survey project for various sites in the UK and NI for Tesco plc. CDP were instructed to undertake surveys of the existing properties and produce accurate, detailed drawings to a consistent standard and to a set time framework as specified by Tesco Plc. The range of stores included large format Extra and Superstores with gross floor areas from 25,000 to 120,000 sq.ft, to smaller Metro, Express and Petrol Filling Stations sites.
All sites were programmed and tracked ensuring the survey teams would be dispatched allowing enough drawing and quality control time to deliver each store when required.
The scope of survey included full structural, mezzanine floors, basements, elevations, site layouts (including car park), signage, full equipment and commodity. Once returning to the office with the site notes our Project Designers would produce the required standard of plans to be submitted to Tesco plc for the deadline.
The timeline for the project was February to August 2011 and with specific target dates to aim for, expert project planning was essential to ensure the delivery of each site back to Tesco Plc.
We thoroughly enjoyed completing this fast paced project from start to finish and building a rapport with one of the largest retailers in the world. We are looking forward to future projects that we are given the opportunity to be involved with.
Completing this project has also helped Cox Design and Consult towards becoming Associate members of The Survey Association.
